- Registered office: Ground Floor, Unit B, Lostock Office Park, Lynstock Way, Lostock, Bolton BL6 4SG

- ICO registration: ZB405855 — verifiable on the ICO register of data controllers
What this website collects
Nothing directly. This is a static website. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and uses no advertising or tracking pixels, so there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. The contact form does not submit anywhere — it opens your own email application with the details you typed, so the message travels from your email account to ours and the website itself captures and stores nothing.
Our hosting provider automatically records standard technical request data (including your IP address) in its server logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use those logs to identify or profile visitors.
Information you send us
If you email us or make an enquiry, we receive whatever personal data you choose to include — typically your name, email address, telephone number, employer and the content of your message. We use it only to respond to you and, where it goes further, to discuss and deliver the services you have asked about. We never sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing.
Lawful basis
We rely on our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and running our consultancy, and on taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract where an enquiry progresses towards engagement. Where we are legally required to keep records — tax and accounting, for example — the basis is compliance with a legal obligation.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence and client records for up to six years from our last dealings with you. Six years matches the standard UK limitation period for contractual claims and our accounting record-keeping obligations. After that, records are deleted. If an enquiry clearly goes nowhere and no engagement follows, we will normally delete it sooner.
Client project data
When we work on a client's IFS Cloud system we may come into contact with personal data held in that system — employee, customer or supplier records, for example. In that situation the client remains the data controller and Meta ERP Ltd acts as a processor, working only on the client's documented instructions and under the confidentiality and data-processing terms of the engagement contract. If your personal data sits in a system we work on, please contact that organisation, as they control it — though you are welcome to contact us and we will point you the right way.
Who else is involved
We keep the supply chain deliberately short. The providers that may process personal data on our behalf are:
- Microsoft 365 — business email and document storage.
- Netlify — website hosting and server logs.
- Google Fonts — serves the site's typefaces, and may process your IP address to do so.
- Our accountant, where correspondence forms part of a business record.
Some of these providers operate outside the UK, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred abroad it is protected by the safeguards permitted under UK data protection law, such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK–US data bridge.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we process it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on legitimate interest, you can object at any time. To exercise any of these, email kthompson@metaerp.co.uk — there is no charge and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you raised it with us first so we can put it right.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal data — by adding website analytics, for instance — we will update this page and change the 'last updated' date above.
